Quickfire Solutions

If you experience any problems when receiving your Suncrest electric fire or suite, the solution could be as simple as ensuring the correct settings are switched on. The table below illustrates some potential problems, a quick diagnosis and methods of correction.

Fan heater (and illumination for Spectraflare models) has stopped whilst in operation.

Suggests the action of the thermostatic cut-out.

Ensure the air supply and venting are not restricted.

The cut-out will automatically reset after being switched off and on at the mains. Allow 15 minutes to cool.

No or poor illumination of flame or light effect (all models).

Suggests bulb failure.

Replace the bulb (see 'BULB REPLACEMENT' section).

No or poor illumination of flame or light effect (Spectraflare).

Low light intensity setting.

Change light intensity (see Instructions for details).

No illumination or heater supply.

Suggests an electrical supply problem.

Is the appliance plugged in and switched on at the mains? Is the switch on the fire correctly set (see OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS; section below)?

Check the fuse in the outlet. Replace as necessary.

No flame effect or illumination.

Unit is not switched on at the socket outlet or switch 'A' is in the off position.

Check that socket outlet is switched on. Check that switch'A' is in the on position.

Flame effect does not move as intended.

Suggests the spinner is not working efficiently.

Check that the spinner is correctly mounted on the spinner pin.

No heat on high heat setting.

Incorrect switching sequence.

Check that switches 'A' and 'B' are in the on position.

Flame effect does not flicker as intended (spinner models).

Suggests the spinner is not working efficiently.

Check spinner is mounted onto spinner pin correctly i.e. Spinner should be able to rotate freely without hitting the bulb, spinner arm or any other fire metal parts. Adjust arm as necessary.

Flame effect does not flicker as intended (Ribbon models).

Suggests the "Effect Ribbon" is not working efficiently.

Cold and dampness can affect the performance of the "Effect Ribbon". Run the fan heater for 10 minutes to alleviate this.

Operating Instructions

Before connecting to the mains please ensure that all of the switches are in the off position.

The appliance control switches are located underneath the pebble shelf on the right hand side of the heater box.  The switches will look like the diagram below.  It is important to be aware that switches must be turned on in the correct sequence.  ‘A’ must be on prior to switching on ‘B’ to operate at 1kW.  ‘A & B’ must be on prior to switching on ‘C’ to operate at 2kW.  Switching off ‘A’ will disable both ‘B & C’.
